When I fell asleep last night, Winter Quarter 2008 was, in my mind, over. All day, I’d seen students rolling their suitcases out of the dorm with that relieved, “thank-God-I-finished-finals-and-didn’t-pluck-my-eyeballs-out” look. Each week, one Residence Life staff member holds the on-duty pager. This person has to stay within 5 minutes of campus the whole week and responds to the scene if any “incidents” come up. You also get to clip a pager to your belt all week long, causing passers-by to wonder what early-90’s drug ring [...]
