Born in Colorado…raised in the ‘burbs…went to college in Seattle, and decided to stay for a while…literally. I stayed at the school for ten years. After graduating, I worked in the Office of Admissions as a recruiter for four years, and then in Residence Life for two.
In the summer of 2008, my wife and I moved to Canada so I could go to another school and get another degree, because I’m just THAT SMART. This time, it’s a Masters…of Divinity, in fact. Save up your questions about all things “divine”…by May of 2011, I’ll be able to address them all.
Between now and then, I’m just trying to pay attention and not miss anything good.
Likes: a good cookie (preferably chocolate chip), shallow TV shows, airplane rides, new places, old friends, grape juices from around the world (of the fermented variety), clever wit, fonts, ellipses (…), americanos, my Calphalon santoku knife, ambient restaurants with interesting menus, inside jokes, ah-ha moments, folding laundry, skiing, the experience of grace from either side, my aforementioned beautiful wife Lisa, and life in community where Christ is the center.
Dislikes: things and people that smell foul, repetitive but necessary processes (i.e. getting my hair cut, cutting my fingernails, paying taxes…why do we have to do this crap OVER and OVER!?), pickles, people touching the zipper of my jacket, eating boring food, men’s silk shirts, tacky behavior, emotionally high-maintenance people, gas and indigestion, people who use the words “acrosst” and “alls” (as in “alls I needed was directions to the trailer park”), and people who choose stagnation rather than growth.

JJ…you are my favorite human being – I’ve never laughed out loud while reading someones blog
until now…I must say – you inspire me:
1) To consider writing my own blog…but more importantly…
2) To be funnier!
Okay…that’s really all I had to say (besides the fact that I agree that your wife has a VERY foxy haircut!)
I will forgive you for not blogging (for like a month JJ…seriously) only because you updated pictures on your flickr that include Lisa’s graduation (she is a master – yay!)…But once you become a Canadian…you need to keep this thing updated because I’m really going to miss you both…a lot!
